Charlie with Hal Roach, Thelma Todd, & Mervyn Leroy
Below is a non-watermarked version of this photo, but it just doesn't do Charlie's bathing suit justice. It appears that his "bulge" has been airbrushed out.
Good God! (to quote Chaplin himself) I don't need to be looking at that...so why am I? You continue to post photos I have never seen - that's why I check in.
I knew this is where I would find you all:) Very interesting back story to this photo Jess...all of these years we have been deceived....I love the look on his face.
aka 'everything looks bigger on a small man'. ;)
ReplyDeleteforgive me lowering the tone of your blog.
Ha! I believe the tone had already been lowered by this post alone!

ReplyDeleteI can see why he had a lot of women ;)
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered what Charlie and Thelma was doing just before this photo was taken.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there was anything going on with Charlie & Thelma Todd as Kenneth Lynn implies in his book. They were just posing together.
DeleteI can't believe I posted something about Charlie's bulge. Some of these posts are so embarrassing to look back on now.
