Upon further inspection, this is definitely a composite photograph (note the leg with no body to the right of Hannah). Thanks to "Chaplinophile" for pointing this out!
My first thought was that it looked like a press photo (at least on Hannah's side). These were sometimes touched up or outlined so that they would show up better on the printed page. But now that I look at it more closely, there is a leg (with no body) next to Hannah! I hadn't noticed that before. Yes, definitely doctored!
This is a strange photo and looks almost doctored, like he or she was dropped into the image. ?

DeleteOMG, I didn't even notice the leg! I was looking at the shadow to Chaplin's left and thinking that her shadow should be dwarfing that one!
