Chaplin's masterpieces The Kid & City Lights will be shown back to back beginning at 12:45AM (EST). Also on the schedule are films by Buster Keaton (inc. The General) and Harold Lloyd.
Just want to say how much I enjoy your blog! I kind of "rediscovered" Chaplin after a trip to Hollywood this summer. I rented a bungalow that was built in 1918 by the studios to house actors new into town. There were four of them still standing on the block I stayed and according to the owner of two of those houses, Charlie used one of them as a "Love Nest"! Her words! Of course, who knows if this is true, but she works in the industry and is very involved in preserving the history of old Hollywood, so I'm just going to pretend it's true!
I've heard that realtors & landlords in L.A. pass around Chaplin's name like candy, claiming he lived or slept in about every house out there. There used to be a website with a pretty accurate list of addresses with a Chaplin connection, I'll see if I can find it.
