At a tennis match with Paulette, 1937

The big rock Paulette is wearing was supposedly a gift from Chaplin.

  1. in one book, can't remember if it was Gilbert's or "The Adventurous Life of Paulette" - it's referred to as a Mother's Day Gift from Chaplin. If so, I think that is so sweet! It's a huge rock though!

    1. I know, it almost takes up her whole hand! Speaking of Paulette's jewels, I watched "The Women" on TCM the other night and I noticed that Paulette is wearing the famous emerald bracelet that Charlie gave her in her first scene. I hadn't noticed that before.

  2. I never noticed it either, now I must watch that train scene and pay attention to something else besides that cape she is wearing!

  3. Jess, do you know the story behind the weird Chinese design looking ring she was wearing in another post. Charlie is seen swearing it around the early twenties and then Paulette. It is two 3/4 inch gold parallel strips connected by a horizontal strip positioned midway. I thought it was unusual. I'd much prefer the rock.

    1. I'm not familiar with this ring, you'll have to point it out to me, especially the pics of Charlie wearing it. I've only ever seen a couple of pics of him wearing a ring.
