I recall reading that she would tell Chaplin that a window had been open in the last scene and now it was closed. Chaplin would simply say, "They won't notice because they'll be watching me." He hated the union rules of script girls, hair dressers and the like. He did it all himself.
I had imagined that Henry had let Charlie finance a night spot steak restaurant but I read it was a day diner where CC lunched often. Hollywood never really got the dinner theatre nightclub scene like swinging NY. They had a few exclusive hotel lounge locations for the elite though, and of course the Coconut Grove. I did not know how many different Groves there actually were until recently. I like seeing Charlie all dressed up......but nude is good.
