National Hat Day

They're claiming on Twitter that it's National Hat Day, and no one wore a more iconic hat than Charlie.

But this so-called holiday also got me thinking that the Tramp didn't always wear his famous bowler. Sometimes he wore other hats. Take a look.

I'm sure I missed one, but you get the idea.

  1. Nice idea! Ones you missed: Hynkel's cap, straw boater from The Cure and Limelight, lighter derby from A Night Out and The Count, janitor's cap from The Bank, street cleaner's helmet from City Lights, and Verdoux's homburg and beret, and if they count, then his Napoleon hat would too.

    1. How did I miss The Cure?! I should be ashamed of myself. Thanks for the others. I tried to keep this strictly to the Tramp (I should've clarified that) or it would have gone on way too long!

  2. Nice Idea, indeed!!!!
Also top hat, whatever in MAKING A LIVING, CRUEL, CRUEL LOVE, MABEL AT THE WHEEL, THE ROUNDERS, or, later, THE PROFESSOR,
The « kind of » hat he wears in DOUGH AND DYNAMITE (sorry, I don’t know how you name it in English…)
Straw boater from Tillie and the « Unknown Keystone »
2 different hats in A KING OF NY, and many more I guess
