This photo accompanied an article in the Feb. 1918 issue of Motion Picture magazine about Charlie's trip to Hawaii (in August 1917).  When the reporter asked Charlie why he came so far, he replied, "I just dropped in for coal and a game of golf." Many years later in My Autobiography, Charlie called golf "a game I loathe".
